Oscar de la Renta is a Dominican-American luxury fashion house founded in New York in 1965 by designer Oscar de la Renta (1932–2014), who trained under Cristóbal Balenciaga and Antonio del Castillo before establishing his own label. Celebrated for romantic, feminine evening wear and impeccably tailored daywear marked by vibrant colour, delicate prints and signature ruffles, the house has dressed first ladies and red-carpet celebrities for over half a century and today continues under creative directors Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim.
