Nili Lotan is the New York womenswear label founded in 2003 by Israeli-born designer Nili Lotan, who trained at Shenkar in Tel Aviv and designed for Ralph Lauren, Liz Claiborne and Nautica before going independent. Her aesthetic fuses French minimalism, 1970s rock and roll and utilitarian ease into relaxed, timeless pieces - military trousers, silk slip dresses, cashmere knits and unstructured blazers - mostly still made in New York, with the first store opening above her Tribeca atelier in 2006.
